This webinar series is part of the EWMA Skin Tear Prevention Campaign that commenced in 2021 in collaboration with ISTAP. The webinar series will take you through various aspects of skin tear prevention. Five experts in their field present at each webinar.

Webinar Series: The science and practice of skin tears

Since the inception of the International Skin Tear Advisory Panel (ISTAP) in 2011 there is an emerging body of evidence to support the prevention, assessment and management of skin tears.  Early recognition of people who are at risk of developing skin tears is an essential part of prevention and is vital to minimising incidence of avoidable skin tears.

In light of this, ISTAP and EWMA seeks to increase awareness about skin tear prevention through this joint effort.

EWMA and ISTAP have completed a two-part webinar series that focus on skin tear prevention under the series’ title The science and practice of skin tears.
